This is my first foreign car purchase, just bought a used 02 V70 w/32K miles. The manual recommends oil changes at 7500 mile intervals. The dealer told me 3000 miles. What's the deal? Do I have to use the dealer for oil changes? Will the computer reset the oil change interval monitor if I take it to Jiffy Lube?
Thanks

I think most change their oil every 3,000 to 4,000. I personally do it myself because it's pretty easy and I trust my work. The dealer is pretty expensive for an oil change and you have to wait there so long. I don't trust Juffy Lube for some reason. I have had some places other than Jiffy Lube do it a few times. It's whoever you are comforatable with. I imagine most of those places can reset the Service Light which is the one that comes on every 7500 miles.

You can do it every 7,500 or 3,000 it is up to you.
I have seen cars with 150,000 miles on it and still looks clean inside.
Volvo reccomends 7,500 but you can do it when every you want.
You can also reset the light your self.Do a search here on the forum to learn how.

Great! Thanks for your help. I gave up on oil changes when some landed on my face once. I think I'll stick with the 3000 mile change. It's a small price to pay to keep the engine running well.
Anyone know how to change the light bulbs in the side mirrors? These are known as the "approach lighting" or "puddle lights".
