Default Service Intervals

Good Morning,
I have just purchased an S40 1.9T. I have been reading the forum and had a few questions.
1) When does the timing belt need to be replaced and is this a free spinning engine?
2) Automatice Transmission fluid, type and frequency.
3) How is everyone's experience with Mobile 1. (~15W50 viscosity)
4) Exhaust (?) tick when cold. Common?
I had a 740 wagon about 7 years ago and it was a good car, it only needed to be turbocharged.

I would appreciate any input.

James

1.I would get it inspected at 70,000 miles and replaced if it needs it. Dealer says 105,000 but I have seen them break at 60,000 and at 80,000. It will damage/Break intake Valves if it breaks.

2.Volvo says it shouldn't be serviced. But look at the Fluid and when it gets dark replace it.

4. Some have it and some don't.

Thanks!

I used to work for Nissan and they stated the same service interval on the T-belt. The old VG30's were clear about the t-belt being replaced at 60,000 mi.

The trans fluid does appear to be stressed. What is the recommendation?

In my Porsche days, we only used Mobile 1 15W50. What about the Volvo's?

The mobil one will work fine.

The Trans fluid I believe is the Supposed Synthetic fluid.
But I would double check from a dealer by transmission type to make sure.

If they say it should be the synthetic read this post.

$96.00 should be the drain and refill method.
If not it is really cheap.
