03 V70 Rear Drivers Side Door Lock Issue
I am new to this forum but will try to put all pertinent information in. thanks in advance for your help.
I have a 2003, V70 non-turbo. Recently, the drivers side rear door lock will not function. I bought a replacement "working" actuator off of ebay but this did not work. I then removed the actuator from the rear passenger side which works with the remote and the drivers door switch, plugged it into the rear drivers side, it did not work. So it is safe to say it is not an actuator problem.
After searching this forum, It seems it might be a REM problem. All other items seem to work, ie. fuel gauge, rear windows, tail lights....
Not sure where I should go with the troubleshooting?
Any help is greatly appreciated.

RE: 03 V70 Rear Drivers Side Door Lock Issue
I just spoke to a guy who deals strictly with Volvos regarding the rear door lock. He suggested starting easy with the trouble shooting. Start with +12v and negatives at the door.
Does anyone have wiring diagram or know what the 6 wires going into the actuator do? Any help is greatly appreciated

Its been a while since my first post regarding the lock issue. I am glad to say the problem is resolved. It turns out two of the relays were missing from the REM. I attached a photo just in case someone down the line needs the info. It should make troubleshooting rear door lock issues a little easier. The red square indicates the missing relays for the drivers side rear door lock. The yellow is the rear pax side.

I'm a bit confused. Is the car new to you? From the original post it didn't sound like it, and lead me to believe the lock worked previously (thus without the relays in place). So now that the relays are added it works, correct? If it worked without the relays previously, why did this fix it?

I bought the car used and all door locks were working at the time. About a year after purchase, the car was hit in the rear corner and sustained some minor damage. It had to be at least a month after the repair that I noticed the rear door lock on the drivers side was not working.
At the time, from research on the web, I just thought it was the actuator within the door. When replacement didn't fix the problem, I turned my concentration to the REM. It was hard to find a diagram of the relays for the REM.
Had the relays just fallen out, I would have seen them in the rear compartment, but there was nothing there. So I had no reason to believe any were missing.
I just wanted to add the pdf photo so if anyone is having rear door lock issues, an easy troubleshoot would be to start with the relays. No tools needed to access them. It is a lot easier than pulling the door skin off.
