just noticed now,, as car didnt seem to have the same traction,, so backed it down hill, accelerate up no power to rear wheels just front which then end up spiinning
doesnt matter if i try to crawl or gas it (therefore front wheels spinning at 20, 30k, 40 on the snow) so i am presuming something must be wrong with an electronic module as car is acting as if its 2wd only
i mentioned above, first time noticed rear wheels didnt work was going up the steep hill on our driveway so below 10km, then i tested by backing down and accelerating with dtc off to spin wheels and noticed only fronts spinning

The only one you did mention 10 in was the one I quoted.

Anyways what I was going to tell was that the AWD system on our Volvo's are not full-time AWD. After 30MPH it isn't AWD anymore it is FWD and FWD only after 30MPH. So what I was trying to get at was how fast were you going so I could tell you that.
But I can see you weren't going that fast. But it still good info to know.
Ok why was everyone fighting over how fast he was going???? It doesn't matter the point is the AWD doesn't work reguardless of speed!!! Here's the deal the rear wheels are controled by a control module with temperature and pressure sensors. If one of thoses sensors gives or gets a wrong signal then it won't work properly. I'll bet there is a fault code stored in that module for a sensor issue. Also if any fluid has leaked out then it can't build up enough pressure to activate the AWD. Just take it to the dealer and they will tell you what it is.

Now get back on topic.
