1998 V70 AWD GLT fuel filter
I know it's here some where - but can some one tell me where the fuel filter exactly is on my 1998 V70 AWD GLT. I think it is near the passenger rear door or wheel but can't seem to find it. OBDII says running real lean - figured fuel filter might be a good try??? or O2 sensors - any thought appreciated

RE: 1998 V70 AWD GLT fuel filter
I don't know about the GLT, but my car is a 98 v70 XC and all of the pictures I've seen of the fuel filter show it just in front of the rear axel running from right to left. But mine is mounted running from front to rear. You have to remove two access panels from the interior to gain access to the filter. One of the access panels is accessable by lifting the forward floor panel, the other one is accessible only after you remove this same floor panel. There are two bolts(oneach side)securing this floor panel in place, one easily accessable and the other just under the rear floor panel, once you remove these bolts, just slide the floor panel rearward, then front and up. Remove the second access panel and you will be able to disconnect the fuel line. Loosten the filter clamp and slide the old filter out and the new one in.

Thanks for the info - I did finally find the filter exactly where you said it was. When I changed it out the gas in the old one looked like squid ink - so I guess it was due. Main problem ended up being a vacuum hose which had fallen off in the engine compartment. Thanks again for the help..........DaveV70
