Exclamation 1998 v70 part out

I have a 1998 V70 Cross Country. Everything is in excellent working condition except that my father recently overheated the engine (due to bad water pump) and now there is no compression. I am looking to part out the car.

Does anyone know the best way for me to go about doing this? On a forum? Online auctions? All body and electrical units are in working condition.

Is the transmission worth anything (it is in perfect condition)? Is the engine worth anything?

Which specific parts are usually the most valuable, and how much do they run for?

Would it be smarter for me to just junk yard the car for $100 or so?

I am located between Santa Barbara and Los Angeles.

Many thanks,

Mishone

If the body and interior and trans are "perfect", you might consider an engine swap. Find one with the same type of engine and trans (or else you'll become a self-taught electrical/computer engineer) that has been rear-ended or t-boned and totaled. If you take it to the junk yard, that's probably what they'll do and resell the car.

You'll have to check around for availability, of course, and cost of engine swap. But it could be a viable alternative. If the car is a "beater", fugitaboutit.
