How do you reset the service engine light on a 1998 v70?

 

1998 is the year that you CANNOT reset the SEL without the special Volvo tool.
What I have done the last 10 years? I placed a small piece of BLACK Eletrical tape (3/4 x 3/4 inch) over the light. The SEL will go out after 1-2 min of driving. You will not miss the light with the BLACK Electrical tape!

 

to add to this, the SEL light is for oil changes, and will come back on every 3k as i understand it.
