1998 V70 XC AWD heater fan
My heater fan decided it wasn't going to push air anymore. It's just not turning on. I have the electronic climate control system.
I've got voltage to the fuse (31). When I remove the fuse, then measure resistance from the non-hot side to ground, I can see a resistance change when moving the fan control, but it's from 180 ohms at full on to way higher readings as I move the control to lower fan speed settings.
Not sure what that's telling me or how the electronic control works. I suspect it's just the rheostat connected to the fan speed switch.
I'm thinking I need to first pull the blower motor out and bench test it, but my suspicion is that it's the controller, as I've discovered it's more than $500....and that's how my luck rolls so far with this car.
Can any of you point me to a schematic for the climate control system? OR offer any other advice?
Thanks
Steve

Steve,
I'm a struggling with the same issue on a 1999 V70. I was on this site last week doing searches and I know I saw a schematic. I tried to find it again and haven't located it; unfortunately I didn't print it. Someone had loaded the factory mechanic manual for the ECC and provided a copy of the schematic. If I find it I will send you a copy. This is not a fun, nor inexpensive, problem to resolve. I refuse to take it to a dealership as I'm certain the cost for a repair will exceed the value of the vehicle! Good luck!

Steve,
I think I found the schematic I was looking at. Here's the link:
