My V70 just went over 200K and I made the mistake of bragging to my wife how wonderful our Volvo has been! First I noticed the battery light was dim becoming brighter each time we started it. I took it to the shop and they said the battery was low-- recharged and put it back in. Next morning, the same thing happened so I went to another auto parts store-- bad battery so I replaced with a new one. Next morning, wife is driving to work, SAME thing again (yes I know you knew already)... its probably the alternator. Took it to my local shop, ordered a new alternator from Pep Boys, replaced the alternator. Now new battery and new alternator... Next day!!!! SAME thing~! Now the alternator and the battery is shot. TODAY im having the original alternator repaired to see if that makes a difference! Help, does anyone know what can be causing the issue or what esle I should replace or check. Love the car but Im on the edge of pulling her plug!
