Anyone know how to check a cv axle, front drivers side, was told it is bad. Vibration at freeway speeds, now i also have a vibration at normal speeds like 20 or 25 mph, if i put it in nutreul and coast it still has the vibration. , boot is torn and gone. Anyway for me to be sure before i tear it all apart ? Thanks for any help.

 

Man, sorry no one has helped you with this. I wish someone would do a good suspension write up for others to DIY. I don't know myself.

 

try moving the front tire to the rear and drive it to see if the vibration moves to the rear.

To check CV...turn left from a stop and liten for the click, click, click. Try it again turning right too.

 

Torn rubber boots allow contamination of these units which causes pre-mature abrasive wear. Replacement is the only safe repair. Faulty CV units can cause dangerous vehicle operation! Costly front end suspension work! Inspection by good front end alignment shop important.
