1999 XC misfire
My problem is connected to this previous problem I had which is as follows:
"I own a 1999 v70 AWD XC. I recently have had a problem with it idling poorly immediately after I start it. It got very bad until one day I started the car and it sputtered alive and then died. I tried starting it and it just turned but wouldnt start. So I took it into a mechanic and he told me that my problem was the fuel pressure regulator and damper. He told me the fuel psi was 53 where it should have been 40-45 and it was flooding my engine."
So since that, I replaced the fuel regulator and the car seemed to start fine but then, a few days later, the car was still not functioning good. When I started the car, it would start but then die. I could start it again and either it would be fine or it would die once I put it into gear. Then, if it did die when put into gear, a second start would do the trick and it would start fine. Also, at the beginning of my drives (say, the first 15 minutes or so), there seems to be a misfire when I am around 3000rpm. If I keep the acceleration constant, the rpm will just sort of fluctuate +-100rpm in an oscillatory manner. Also, a few times it has just died at a stop light and it just starts right back up again. I have tried priming the fuel system with starting the pump prior to ignition but it doesnt make a difference. Thank you very much for your help and input.
When I replaced the fuel regulator, I had to pull the fuel injectors out of the engine so that I could work on the fuel rail. This is what my mechanic told me I could do. When I replaced them back into the engine, they fit just fine although not as snug as before. Would that cause the problem I am describing? Would replacing the o-rings on the injectors solve this problem maybe?
I also have a check engine light that came on around the time of this problem. The codes are P1238,P0300,P0447,P1175,P1172. They are respectively the turbo control valve, a random/multiple cylinder misfire, Evaporative Emission System Vent Control Circuit Open, and 2 fuel adaption bank 1s.
