Default 2001 V70 2.4 Petrol Throttle Body issue

I'm on the search for a replacement Throttle Body for my 2001 V70 2.4 Petrol because the car is stalling often and acceleration is no longer steady. Local main Volvo dealer tells me the part is no longer available to purchase new. Used parts are available on eBay etc, but I can't find the particular one I need there or anywhere else on line. My local mechanic who specialises in Volvos is pretty sure the existing part can't be serviced or refurbished in any way and it needs to be replaced. Any more advice or any useful contacts where I might find the part would be appreciated. Thanks

where are you located? There are services like XeModex who will rebuild your throttle body (they are in Ontario, Canada). there are also kits to replace the contacts that can fail.

Thanks for that. I'm in the UK, so unfortunately Canada is a bit out of reach, but I'd be interested to know what can be achieved with a kit, if they are available here.
