Default Welcome "brother"

Hello, You got my year, my color, my fuel and almost my mileage. I have 124,000 miles on mine. Good luck with it. Get a print out of the Volvo service records and put the services on a time line. See if there have been any transmission updates. Make DAMN sure the timing belt has been done at it's 105,000 mile service interval. If you do any work on your car at all, get 4 litres of a 3309 transmission fluid (do a search on this board), an aluminum crush washer from one of the site sponsors and a 24mm wrench and do a drain and fill. If the fluid is going dark and smells the least bit burnt, do a self powered flush (do a search). Do NOT, for one minute, consider the claim that the transmission fluid is lifetime is truthful. The shocks and struts will go soon. If at any time the car makes a sharp pop or "tire related" thud (as if you've pinched a rock) whilst backing up CHECK YOUR EMERGENCY BRAKE SHOES. Do a search on that subject. If you ever have to replace the battery be sure the key is position II before you hook the posts up. You guessed it, do a search on that too. Don't let a battery get old and weak on you-it messes with the processors in the car. Don't be one of those people who leaves a window open during a rain as the resulting moisture will do more than make your car smell funny; it'll prompt corrosion of the myriad electronics in these cars. I ALWAYS run the air conditioning whenever there's any rain in order to suck the moisture out of the car. Anybody else? Enlighten this new guy, Kira
