2002 V70 Turn Signal Problem
Our turn signal indicator on the steering wheel is not functioning correctly. Using it for a left turn usually works, but when using for a right turn it is a hit or miss literally. Either a full push up or a half push for a lane change will either work, not work, or a combination where it starts and then stops. This sometimes happens for a left turn. Wondering if this is a short or worn part in the steering column and if this is a owner fixable problem.

I've had the same issue and assumed it was just dirty contacts. I took my column apart and removed the lever and cleaned the inside with some electronics cleaner. You spray it in there, no need to dry, it's a solvent that just evaporates quickly. It's been back to normal function for 4 months now with no issues. Might be worth a shot before you go and replace it.

Thanks for the info. Maybe you can help me here on a followup. Looks like the undersection of the steering column where the turn signal is located has 4 screw/bolts. After removing those are there any other quirks to getting to my problem area. Tried to find an online schematic for the steering column but didn't have any luck.
Did you disconnect the battery before doing this?
Thanks.
