2004 v70 yellow fluid leak
I have a 2004 v70 non turbo. I noticed 3 yellow fluid spots in the snow where my car had been parked when I moved my car today after it had been running a few minutes. They were spread out towards the back end of the car running down the center of the car (I think) and formed after the motor, not under the motor, and ended towards the rear. I think it may be gas. I picked up some snow where the fluid had dropped and smelled the snow and didn't smell anything. Although I have been getting the scent of gas in my car once in a while lately. Any ideas? I'm thinking a gas line leak.

Freaky...
Hello, I am responding only because my V70, a 2002 non-turbo, AND my sister's 1999 Jeep Cherokee exhibited the same yellow spots in the snow upon moving them today. These spots weren't under the engine, let alone the radiator. Neither of us have smelled fuel-ever. It can't be a product of rust since it's the wrong color. The only things I can think of is drips from body drains tainted by decaying vegetation trapped in the drains. Still, that's not a color I'd expect. It might be small animal urine. The Jeep was parked "nose-to-tail" with another car. When I finally moved the other vehicle I saw scads of squirrel tracks in the snow. I'm going with the urine theory. The size of the stain and pattern of melted snow seems to fit. As you can tell by my picture, I'm no stranger to tracking animals. Kira
