Hello All,
Well, I finally repaired all of my engine oil leaks (turbo drain pipe gasket & o ring, and upper oil cooler hose). My transmission is "dripping" slightly. This past weekend I spent some time to look into. Having the FRONT of the car on jack stands (rear wheels on the ground) I cleaned up the bottom of trans and ran the car. Well, trans fluid leaked like mad from between the engine and the trans. I then jacked the rear of the car to make it level. The leak stopped.

Any ideas on what would leak when the front is higher?

Torque converter seal.

 

Thanks Tech, I apprieciate your advise. I did a little research and see that the AWD cars have a different torque converter seal than the FWD cars (maybe the trans is different).

Do you have the capibility to provide the correct seal number for me to order? 98 V70 AWD (not an XC)

Hello All,

Just FYI follow up here. It was the transmission pump seal (o-ring). It was in two pieces. What a ridiculous amount of labor for a $2 part, it's insane!

had it together for a few days now. I just noticed that the right axle seal is leaking. I will have to order them and install.
