Default 2006 Volvo V70

my 2006 V70 has started making a clicking/clanking sound when I shift, from a stopped position, into "drive" or "reverse". The sound is coming from the right front side, near the tire. I don't hear the sound when I apply the brakes, only shifting into gear. Any thoughts?

Wild guess is transmission/motor mounts. Assuming it isn't a constant clicking, but a click upon shifting into gear. Have someone who trusts you stand in front of car with hood open while you do the shifting into D and R. Trans is on driver side of car (except in UK, Japan, NZ and Oz where they put the steering wheel on the wrong side).
