Default 98 v70 will not start

I purchased a really nice 98 v70 with 151,000 miles on it. It currently does not run and due to sound of engine while turning over really sounded like timing belt had broken. I was able to track down previous owner and she stated timing belt just redone i took cover off and confirmed. Stated car broke down on her while driving down the road saw steam coming from engine compartment. Took it to her shop they said had no oil or antifreeze in it. I am unable to find anywhere where it might have leaked out. It turns over great but sounds like broken timing belt. Any ideas?

Did you check the timing belt tensioners? If one of them failed, your car could have jumped timing having a similar effect as a broken timing belt without actually breaking the belt.

You mentioned it breaking down on the previous owner. Also that it had signs of over heating, oil / coolant mixing, etc.. It's possible that it has a bad head gasket which could have caused other damage ie compression. Check fuel pressure then compression.
