Default 98 V70R fuel pump replacement

I have a 98 V70R that has sat for a few years it was not running when it was parked at that time was running rough then would not run at all, when you turn key on you do Not hear the fuel pump kick on. I had changed the relay but it still did not turn the pump on One person said it might be the crank sensor but after sitting I am going to replace the pump. My question is I have read a few different things on the 98 V70R fuel pump some say you need to drop the tank others say you can get to it from under the back seat which one is it
also I have read that on the AWD R model there is a baffle and filter on the drivers side that needs to be addressed when you change the pump can someone give me a definitive answer on the best way to change it and is there a good pump to go with especially if down the road I want to increase power a little bit
thank you in advance
