Background research before I buy - 2000 V70R
I test drove a 2000 V70R yesterday (105k miles), and I have a concern before I drop thousands of dollars on it. It had some behavior that I imagine is either the way it's supposed to be, or a problem with the transmission or drive-train.
From a stop, you can take off as hard as you want and everything is buttery smooth. From a roll, say 20mph, if you gun it a little, there's a slight lag before acceleration, but when it kicked in, it kicked hard. My passenger said he could hear a sound coming from the back of the car, though I couldn't really hear anything. Is the hard kick to be expected in this car? It's an automatic transmission with AWD and a turbo, which is a combination I've never driven before. Everything about the car appears to be immaculate, but I'd like to address this concern. Can anyone help?

There wasn't a need to create a new account just to ask about the infamous transmission issues for these cars. All you had to do was search.
But to answer your question, yes it is a known issue. And it does occur around 100K miles as I have noticed. To fix it you can try what I have posted in the link below (cost about $100 and takes some mechanical skills) or take it to a dealership and they will replace your transmission for you for $4,500.
