Recently, We test drove a 2001 V70 T5. The best part about it was the seats were very comfortable. I was not impressed by the performance and prefer the feel of my 855 turbo with regards to acceleration and overall control and feel of the road. Most of all I did not like the response of the throttle. I guess it has something to do with the etm. Also, the downshift was not as quick as my 855.

My wife really want to get the 2001+ V70 because of the updated styling and shape, so I am kind of stuck between the two. I cannot keep 2 cars and since I do most of the driving and repair the car on my own, I do not want to deal with making trips to the dealer for electronic problems.

I think my best option, is the 98 V70 T5 since the interior is somewhat of an upgrade to the 855 and I would be familiar with the repairs.

The 98 T5s are hard to come by so I have never had a chance to sit in one or drive one. Are the seats as comfy as the 2001 T5 seats? or are they like my 855 seats? Are the v70 R seats more comfortable than the V70 t5. If so, im guessing 98-2000 model seats should bolt right up to the V70 t5 correct?

Second question I have is if I go a 98 v70 R, what kind of extra repairs am I looking at aside from the usual repairs. I keep my cars well maintained. From my research, the only extra concern are the rear driveshafts. Is this true? If so are they a straight forward replacement?
