This is a new one!
My wife took her v70 in for a inspection and oil change last week. Today she is stuck in traffic and the oil light came on. I check and there is no oil on dip stick. Either there is a leak or the mech. did not fill up properly.

Now the strange part, she told me to look at the rear window as there seemd to be a oily film on it. Sure enought, it seems there is oil coming out of the rear spray!
Are these two things related or just a coincidence?

 

Is the car turbo?
If it is look at the oil filter and the turbo return line at the back of the block.
Almost half way straight up from the drain plug.

 

it is not turbo. it is a base model v70.
Just curious how the turbo could make sense out of this?

 

If it was a turbo car the turbo return line o-ring goes bad and leaks oil.
I would make sure the oil filter and the drain plug arent loose.

 

the best i can fiqure is that the oil filter was leaking from bad oring which when driving caused a light film to become airborne and create a light mist on back window

 

They might have put it on the wrong groove or not tightened it all the way.
