brake light reset and brake smell

brake light reset and brake smell
I have two questions, hopefully very easy.
1st - replaced a caliper on our V70 yesterday, did the bleed and wasn't paying attention and screwed it up. The brake light came on. I redid the brake bleed and the brakes are fine now but the stupid light is still on. Is there a trick to reseting it or do I need to pony up $45 to have the dealer read the code and reset the light?
2nd - I am getting a burning brake smell off one of the brakes. Just replaced the caliper and it didn't go away. Time for new pads? (don't ask why I didn't do them all at the same time... long story).
Thanks

RE: brake light reset and brake smell
It is the BRAKE light that is on. I tried the obvious of disconnecting the battery to get it to reset but to no avail. Suprise suprise.
I haven't actually replaced the pads yet. I tried to replace them however I found I was shipped the wrong pads when I tried to install the new pads.
Thanks

RE: brake light reset and brake smell
I had replaced the caliper then bled the brakes. The first bleeding didn't feel right (but the brake light didn't come on) so I bled the brakes a second time.
That time, my wife was helping and she left her foot on the pedal when I tightened the bleeder valve which left a really bad feel in the brakes, then she started the car which fired the brake booster and set the brake light on.
I bled the brakes a third time and now the feel great but the light won't go out. I will have to check the fluid level but I believe there is enough in it.
Any thoughts? Thanks for you help so far.
