Cabin Air Filter

I would change it now since, like my V70 and S60, has probably never been changed before. Buy the filter from AdvanceAutoParts or other discount auto parts store or discount online. I paid $19.95 instead of the same type filter at my Volvo Dealer which wanted $45 even after my 15% discount. You need a Torx wrench set to unscrew the two bolts on the upper kick panel on the passenger side and then a smaller Torx size for the four little screws that hold the cover on of the air filter box. I just changed the filters on my two Volvos and they were extremely dirty.........I would change them every 12k miles or once a year.........filters are cheap and takes about 20 minutes to do the procedure, especially after I learned how to do it on my first car.

Thank you very much. This is the type of work even a klutz like me can do to both save
money and get some small sense of accomplishment. The price differential is astonishing!
This forum is a marvelous source of valuable information.
Now, how do I change the air in the tires from winter air to summer air like the dealer
says is necessary??????

This should be considered as a "sticky" since cabin air filters are common maintenance items. You can delete my comment above, of course, since it was made in jest. But the savings of DIY here are substantial. I assume it should also be considered for the S60 group, too, since I assume the filters and replacement procedures are identical.
