I have a 98 V70 and the Volvo dealer just told me need a new Catalytic Converter (the Check engine light came on).
They quoted me $ 1350 to install a new one, which seems like a lot to me
Does anyone know where I can buy a OEM or good quality catalytic converter.
And do I have to have the engine light reset after I install the new one?
Thanks
Jens

My S70 was setting engine codes ( "catalytic converter efficency below theshold") for the catalytic converter 25,000 miles ago. At the time I read a discussion either here or on another Volvo enthuasist site that suggested it might be the rear O2 sensor instead of the converter. I figured that a 02 sensor being $1100 cheaper than a new cat I would give it try. Light has not come back on since.
