Default Climate Control went dark after battery replacement V70XC

I disconnected the negative post to replace the radio, when I reconnected it the climate control unit and shift indicator lights quit. I took it to International Motors (Formerly Laurel Volvo) of Orland Park (Chicago Suburb). I was told the Central Electronic Module (CEM) was bad, a $1300 repair. I declined and paid the $275 labor charge. I found a climate control unit in a U-Pull-It yard from a 2000 S60, paid $24 and everything is working again. Since then I noticed that they are all over eBay for the same price.

A word to the wise - When there are no positive comments for a dealer on Google Maps, there is probably a good reason!
