Default Cooling System Question

In the process of doing timing belt / water pump (190k on 2002 V70 2.4L NA) and I was replacing most of the coolant hoses at the same time (Upper, lower, reservoir, outlet return oil cooler). I did have a couple of questions on the hoses. First I think I bought an extra hose. I bought two Outlet Return Oil Cooler hoses, one is kind of a "U" and the other is an obtuse angle. The "U" one is the one off of the cooler on the oil pan, is the other for a different make and model or did I miss something? Second on the Outlet Return Oil Cooler line the lower band clamp is easily replaceable with a screw clamp but I don't see how to do the upper one easily. If I had the band clamp tool and some clamps I would redo the connection the same way but I don't. Any recommendations?
Also just in the past two weeks I heard what I thought was the power steering pump going bad. I figured I would take a look while I was doing the serpentine belt. Anyway after taking the belt off and spinning the power steering pump, alternator and the compressor, it seems like the alternator is the culprit. Even though the alternator is not engaged when I spin the pulley it makes a metal scraping noise. Is there anyway to replace the bearing or do you just replace the entire unit? TIA
