I have a 2005 V70 with the euro rails but need some cross bars to attach a soft-sided car top carrier. I've seen that they make official "load carriers," and that you can also get sets of feet to attach cross bars (Yakima, Thule, etc). But it seems like these configurations run into the hundreds. Is there a cheaper setup I can order online? It doesn't need to be complicated, just something to carry no more than 100 lbs.

 

I think they are your only official option. You could always make something out of wood or scrape metal. This would be much cheaper.

 

That's what I was thinking, considering the money required for a real setup. It would be used once every three months. 2x4s and duct tape!

 

Zip Ties, they will work just fine. lol
