Default drip rails info again

Hi to all members and visitors. I have another query for you tech guys . Can someone come up with the correct way to remove the drip rail that runns underneath the roof bars , paint as deteriated on them and iwant to remove them for replacement. These are plastic coverd steel and not very supple. They will not just pull off. The motor is a Volvo V70 p2 2001 estate. Regards once again Trevor

Once the roof bars are off the molding should pull off. Standing on the side of the car pull them towards you. But most of the clips might break so you should get new ones.

Hi tech ,yes i know about that but the roof bars are stillfitted to the roof ,and the rail runs underneath it,the must be a way to remove the drip rail first. The rails come in 8 parts and are not in one piece and are not flexible enough to just pull off im stuck.Ithink you may have to start at the rear maybe after removing the end caps do you think that theis a retaining screw visible after removing the small piece of rail that holds the roof bars on regards Trevor.

The roof bars are screwed on. They are screwed in the front middle and rear. Then the moldings will come off.

Hi tech so are your saying the only way to remove them, the drip rail that is. Isto take down the roof lining and unscrew from inside of the car ,and then remove the screws holding the bars. Iam sorry but the must be an easy way .I will have to try something else I have to visit VOLVO on Sat next i will ask them.

Hi Tech. No screws inthe roof bars from above .There is no screws visible the drip rail sections must have to come off first . Rgards to you for your help .I have to visit Volvo Saturday next i wil have words with the serviceman .Once again thank you Trevor.

The bars are screwed from above but they are under covers. You will have to remove covers to gain access to the screws.
