We have a V70 `02 with the big mean automatic tranny! ha! Last night we went to the drive-in for the first time in many years. It was 1 or 2 degrees C, so heat was needed, plus listening to FM to hear the movie, (Paranormal Activity) the battery was being drained. I could not turn the lights off while the car was running. Very frustrating, since everything has to be dark! We left early! I didn`t want to need a `jump` after the movies ;-) I always need a jump, but that`s another story, so we had to leave early. Any ideas how to shut the dang lights off while the car is running while keeping you warm!? A big issue at the drive-in theatre. thanks, sidney (Crosby, i wish) ps...the big screen mentioned putting the emergency brake ON, then starting the car, and this would allow the lights to go off. It didn`t work.

The center position on the switch should just turn on the side lights if that helps?
I dont know if the P2 V70 has it, but on our oldschool '98 V70 T5 theres a teeny rotary switch that looks like a screw near the light switch, you can use this to turn the auto lights off. Our P2 S80 doesn't seem to have it, so I'm not sure if your V70 will...

The manual say that you can go to the stealer and have the day running lights programmed off. https://www.customers.volvocars.com/...0_02b.htm#pg32
