Does anyone know where the immobilizer box on a 1999 V70 GLT is located? Also, what does it look like? I had the stalling upon start issue and the key flip worked for awhile, but the failure began happening more often so I tried all three keys with the samme result. Based on what I read here, I replaced the antenna ring tonight and it did not have any issue after several trips and multiple starts. I am a bit pessimistic on this one as it was intermittent so if that does not do it, then the immobilizer it is. Yep, I know, new keys and a trip to the dealership for programming. Thanks in advance

So far so good! It's been almost two weeks and the car has been starting every time since I replaced the antenna ring. The problem seemed worse when it was cold and wet - so the real test has been the past few days here in MI. I am keeping my fingers crossed. This site really helped out solving the issue and keeping cash in my pocket. The antenna ring was $46 shipped and the install was quick and painless. I popped the top of the steering shroud and then removed the lower shroud screws (3). The ring just unplugged and slid off.

I just replaced mine, it starts right away. no hesitation with both of my keys. I think I got it fixed. Cost 65 bugs to get the antena ring from volvo. I heard that ring is meant to be fail. I hope they last tho. Cheers!
