Default ECC Issues

Good evening to all. So happy I was able to find this forum.
My story so far, I recently bought a 1998 Volvo V70 T5... Love the car. I had the heating system not delivering the correct temperatures correctly and then the fan stopped working.
We booked the car in the local Volvo dealer and diagnosed the ECC unit. We replaced the unit but the problem remained. This resulted in another trip to the Volvo dealer. They now tell me that the heater motor needs to be replaced which looks quite easy located behind the glove box. They also diagnosed both temp damper motors. The question is... How easy are these to change yourself?

I would so appreciate any help on how this is done. Thank you for the help in advance and great forum. I have learned so much already.

Hopefully you got your money back for their faulty diagnosis? If they got it wrong regarding the ECC, then why do you trust them about the damper motors? You could have gotten another ECC unit from a pic-n-pull yard for about $20.

Are you capable of DIY auto repairs? That vintage V70 is quite easy to work on IMO. You can get heater motor from fcp or similar.
