Has anyone had anything to do with the ECMOUTLET in Troy Michigan?
If so is there any feed back - advice?
I had them check my ECM, they said it was bad and sold me another.
It was supposed to be a plug in unit, the car starts and goes.
This was not the case, so maybe a down load is needed.
Took the car to the www.swedishcarclinic.com in the Torrance area of Southern California. "Truly a great repair shop for Volvos and Saabs"
The computor that the ECM Outlet sent will not take a down load.
Over the past week I have called my contact person at the ECM Outlet, sent an email and no one has gotten back with me.
Today, Sept 16th I called the general # to the ECM Outlet and it has been disconnected. Did I just get ripped. Is small claims in order.
Any input from my fellow Volvo owners about the ECM Outlet of Troy Michigan?

I bought a 2001 s80 ecm from Ecm Outlet last year and I saved almost $1200.00 off the retail price. Jeff Mckee is the manager and he is the guy to ask for, he knows a lot about Volvo engine computers and he saved me a lot of cash. My biggest concern was that I didnt think they would be able to program it but they did. When I got the s80 ecm it came programmed and flashed. I would recommend them to anybody who needs an ecm repaired or replaced. Great company to work with.

 

I had spoke with Jeff when I purchased the ECM, I have his personal work #.
I have been calling trying to get this strait for the past few weeks.
No reply and now the main office # has been disconnected.
Looks like I'm out of about $600.00
Out of work for the past 3yrs and now this.
Just what one needs in this day and age.

Hind sight being 20-20 and all... but whenever dealing with an online company for the first time, google their "company name + scam" and see what comes up first.

Jeff McKee is the owner of ECM Outlet.
I had his phone #. It know has been disconnected.

 

Edwardhav ... I am trying to aggregate all of the complaints of folks who have been ripped off by mcKEE. I became his victim on 9-2-11 and his MO is the same. No product or bad product.

If he is a bad player, it will take many of us to enable action. This how he succeeds -- he finds a few of us suckers and knows it is difficult for police to deal with just one alleged scam, which looks more like bad business than anything else on the surface.

McKee is a former web designer, and has many e commerce sites up like ecm. Search jeff mckee or jeffery mckee. Also beware of safetyairbags.com.

 

Good news
My car is again on the road.
With a new ECM and download the car has never run better.
Since I 1st purchased the car, it would always shift hard and surged while under full throttle. Thought this was normal.
Was I ever wrong. Smooth, clean, positive shifts. A smooth pull of power...
I actually want to keep the car more now than before it broke down.
Hope nothing more goes wrong......at least that I cannot repair myself.

www.swedishcarclinic.com finally convinced me it was the ECM.
This independent AAA approved Volvo/Saab shop is truly a great place.
Peter the owner, hooked up all the test equipment used a few known good ECM's, ran all the tests just to convince me it was the ECM and then also that it had to be replaced by a Volvo rebuilt.
Dlr would not do this, unless I payed them diag time.
Peter spent about 2hrs after hours off the clock.

EXxcept for the legal aspect I now have to deal with in Detroit.
