I have an exhaust issue on my 1998 V70 T5 Manual.

I noticed recently that I've got a buzzy exhaust leak near the front of the exhaust system. It seems to be getting worse pretty quick, as in mor noticeable by the end of each day.

My usual route is to see what IPD sells, but they carry very little for the V70 exhaust. I haven't had time to investigate fully (I'm up to my ears in home renovation), but it has to be somewhere aft of the manifold/turbo.

Does anyone have a recommendation for good resources for parts? I'd even be happy to see a drawing of the system online so I better know where to look. If I do need to replace parts, does anyone know of a reputable source of parts that might provide improved performance? Quality always seems so suspect with "performance parts."

I looked further tonight. There's a crack on a weld just aft of the catalyst. It seems to be growing quickly based on the increase in noise over a short time. I'm guessing I'm going to need a new catalyst?? Anyone's advice would be appreciated.

 

If it does not break all the way you might be able to get it rewelded.

 

Exhaust leaks are noisy and dangerous. When money is short, a temporary fix can get you by for awhile.
