Default Fog in the front window

I am experiencing fog in the windshield, during cold weather (Calgary, Canada) and following step number one from the troubleshooting chart, removed the polen filter to ensure it was not restricting fresh air inside the cabin. Does any body know what to do next? How to retrieve the malfunction messages if any? I understand a simple engine reader (OBD family) will not work.

Hi If you smell anti-freeze or if you have a anti-freeze leak it is probably your heater core. I have the same problem and that was the diagnosis.
