Question Ignition won't work cold temp. Help!!

Our 2001 v70 wagon runs fine from april to october. But once the tempertature drops below 35 degrees the ignition wont work. Its not that it doesn't turn over, it doesn't do anything aside from click click click. Sometimes, if I try it 250 times, it'll start on the 251st no problem. I've had 25 mechanics look at it and have had the battery replaced but still the same problem and no solutions

I suspect there's a problem a "hand shaking" issue between the anti-theft chip on the remote door opener on my key chain and the one on the drive shaft when it gets cold. Have no idea how to verify this or if this is in the right direction. Volvo dealership just says they can only identify problem after FULL DIGAGNOSTIC TEST which naturally means big $$$ without any guarentee of a solution.

Anyway, could really use some suggestions as to how to fix this problem. Its getting cold here in wisconsin and need the car this winter.

thanks!!

I won't be of much help, but have you checked for any codes present? Try a local auto parts store they often will do this for free. Then I'd start looking for corrosion issues at the battery, the ground to chasis, and of course the connections at the starter motor. Remove these and clean and replace.
