Default Last Volvo?

My '03 V70 2.4T is probably the best daily driver I have ever owned. I really don't like what Volvo has done with the styling of the '08s - bulky and coarse. Now there is the rumor of a possible sale of Volvo to a Chinese automaker. I will never buy one. I have has enough experience with Chinese sourced hardware and machine tools to put me off anything they make.

Too bad.

I agree with you pretorian, I am so tired of being forced to buy that chinese junk. It never works as it should but in my opinion Volvo hasn't been a Volvo since Ford bought them.

Just my 2 cents.
I would not buy a Volvo newer than a 1998. That year(1998) is the last year I will buy. The newer electronic stuff is way to much to go wrong. I will stick to the older ones.

Shame, don't knock the Chinese ... I'm pretty sure they do make good quality things too, it's just that most people buy the cheap crap because they are cheap. Anyway, you guys make Ford and look what they did to Volvo

I know the Chinese make a lot of crappy stuff. However, they also make excellent products. I own two Lenovo ThinkPads, which could be classified as the best pc notebooks. Lenovo bought the notebook division from IBM, and they not only have continued the tradition of making rock-solid notebooks, but they have actually improved them in some respects.

Now, I don't know about Volvo or its future, but I would wait before issuing a judgment. Remember the Japanese cars in the 60s and 70s?
