Locking wheel nuts
Hi, tyre fitters lost the locking wheel nut key for my V70. Volvo aren't very helpfull, utube show lots of rubbish about hammering sockets on, none of it works. Lots of 'locking wheelnut remover tools' for sale , but no one will guarantee they work. What do I do?
I had the same problem. You're right about the Utube stuff, complete outdated rubbish that probably never worked. I'm in the UK, look at www lockingwheelnutsremoved com they got all four of mine off in about half an hour.

Hello,
I had a similar issue once before and this technique worked for me:
How To Remove Wheel Locks Without a Key - YouTube
and if the wheel is suck on after you remove the lug nuts, here is a great one:

Eric The Car Guy has helped me with his detailed videos many times. Good Luck!

Hi,
I've seen that car guy video before, it does not work on the Volvo (or most other cars I suspect) because there is not enough room for the socket. I think this may work on very old nuts but no hope on the new ones.
Anyway I have now had them removed by www Locking wheelnuts removed, com http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sbTMr7IKR6k it took them about 20 minutes to get them all off, so the jobs done.
Thanks.

Unfortunately I don't live near them so when recently went to have tyre changed they advised front passenger nut seized and broke the lock key. As bought car 2nd hand did not have code to order new key so it has just cost £145 to have them removed and normal replacements. Dearest tyre change I have ever had .
