Check for coolant leaks it sounds like a leaking heater core. pull back the carpet on drivers side and see if you can see it leaking.

pressurize the coolant system and see if it holds pressure if it does not it is leaking somewhere check your coolant level is it going down any? Check your water pump any cracked hoses, radiator, hoses going through firewall to the heater core. You did not have any other work done to the car recently that may have caused a leak have you?

I checked the hoses, but I will double and triple check them again today. no work done recently in the engine bay to cause a leak. however, I did buy a new resevoir cap since it was cracked and added some anti-freeze/coolant, but that was months ago.

I will go out here and do a thorough check for leaks all over the engine bay just to be sure.

Check around the cap to see if it is leaking.

If you can't find the leak, I suggest a tall stack of buckwheat pancakes. Seriously, do you notice a dampness in the carpet? It could be a small leak that is being soaked up before you can see it.
