Default mud guards on 2006 question

The debris and road tar on the rockers is becoming a weekly chore to clean off. Anyone know how the Volvo mud guards attach? do they attach to the plastic wheel well or do you have to drill into the body of the car to fasten?

Default RE: mud guards on 2006 question

You will need to drill the existing rivets out of the wheel arch. I would buy the original Volvo mudguards as they will fit the shape of the rear bumper. I think the mudguards actually come with new rivets that are slightly bigger than the ones you will drill out. If you put the normal rivets back in the won't hold. You may also need to remove the rear wheels to complete the installation. It's not a big job but you may want to down a whisky before taking a drill to your pride and joy..............

Hope this helps,

Richard
