Default muffler question

Is it possible to get a performance/sport muffler without that "brapp brapp" sound I hear on every modded honda, subaru etc?

yep, turbo cars that are noisy usually have no mufflers at all.
your car with a replacement rear muffler will sound nice without being offensive, even with the rear muffler gone alltogeather they aren't that loud

Turbo's like free flowing exhaust. So a muffler with baffles wouldn't be idle.

So one like Magnaflow or Borla would be a better choice.

x2
borla is $$$ and has a distinct sound, just as flowmasters and magnaflows do, too. magnaflows are cheaper but still very nice. stainless steel body and they wont give you that drone sound inside the cab. i sell magnaflow mufflers all day at my shop.
if the exhaust is still too loud, you can always add a resonator. imo, magnaflow is the way to go. hth

I run a Moroso Spiral-Flow. Love it. Mild at idle, and screams just right at WOT. You can really hear the turbo spooling nice. I'm running 2.5" catback with only the muffler, no resonator.

is that with a aftermarket air intake that you are able to hear the turbo spool?

Nope, stock box with a K&N Drop-in. P2 cars don't see much for gains with a CAI over a stock box with upgraded filter.

Where is your muffler mounted? Is it under the main floor or under the rear overhang? I have a V70R that eventually will have exhaust needs.

Right before the rear crossmember, not sure if you'll have room there since you're AWD.
