My '01 V70 has rust
I have a small fingernail-size rust spot on the roof of my '01 V70. It has gotten a bit bigger in the past 2 months since I bought it. It's underneath the paint. I know the V70 has a 8 year/unlimited mileage corrosion warranty. I'm going to call the dealer today and find out what to do about it.
Have any of you had any dealings with the corrosion warranty?

RE: My '01 V70 has rust
My 2005 MY V70 also has rust spots on the roof.
I bought a Volvo because my previous Merc had rust problems. The Volvo sales person assured me that 'Volvo cars have galvanised steel bodies'. However, when I got a stone chip on the roof that quickly turned into a rust spot, they denied all responsibility. Both Volvo and the SMMT here in the UK also backed the Volvo dealerresponse saying that the 'Volvo New Car Warranty' excludes damage from stone chips.
It appears that the Volvo roof panel is made from untreated mild steel. Not zinc coated steel as the rest of the car.
My mistake - I should have complained to UK Trading Standards about misrepresentation under the UK 'Sale of Goods Act'. I was mis-sold the car! The body is NOT galvanised!
