Hello,
I am new here and I am actually doing some research for my sister who is looking at buying a new (used) car. The car she has in mind is an 01 V70 AWD Wagon. She would like to know if this car and for that matter if Volvo is a reliable auto. Are there and known reoccurring problems that she should be aware of. Thanks for any input.

 

I have owned various Vovlo's since 1985 and will probably always own one or two. They are reliable if maintained properly. I have 202,000 on my 1994 850 turbo and about 85,000 on my 98 V70. My inlaws have an '01 V70 and like it quite a bit. They are also one of the safest cars on the road. What I really like about Volvo's is the value you get for the money. Personally living in Columbus, OH I did not feel that I needed the AWD and stayed away from it. My inlaws do not have the AWD in theirs either.

 

They are good cars the one thing to keeps an eye on is the throttle body's.They go bad sometimes.That is the main problems with that car.
