I am a new owner of a 98' V70 AWD Turbo and a ne member here. I need help already.
When I decelerate making a right hand turn the whole car shudders, not so much through the steering wheel. I am assuming it is a axle problem from what I have read, but am curious of this is an everyday thing for the AWD. Or, if you all can agree that it would be the axle and not something else I am missing.
Thankyou very much in advance.

Definitely a prop (drive) shaft.
Obviously you didn't have the car checked out well before you bought it.
Common with 98-2000 AWD's.
Are all your tires even, by that is the tire type and tread the same? They MUST be andno more than a3/32" difference in tread..... EVER.
Again, you guys MUST post the mileage and any and allpertinent details

The tires are the same size as they have been rotated diligently and are even across each other. I am sorry about the mileage and other details, I relized it after I posted and just let it be. I will be more aware of it for next time.
Thank you for the responses, I will order a driveshaft.

Before you spend way over $1000 bucks for a new onethere are places such as this that can rebuild it for MUCH less andsave HUNDREDS of dollars!
http://www.thrashdriveshaft.com/
Obviously CONFIRM that your drive shaft need replaceing before spending a large sum of money as it can always be something else in the drivetrain, doubtful, but you want tomake sure.
YOU can make sure by removing the driveshaft.
You will be a FWD driver for awhile but if the shuddering stops then you know that you need a new one!

I am thinking it is not the driveshaft since the shudder originates from the right front. I am thinking it is an axle. I had found that there are joint rebuild kits though for the driveshaft, is there a reason that those would not work? I assume that steel that makes the shaft is still finf but it would be the u joint and maybe the bearing that would be the worn parts. If I am way off base please let me know.
