newbie with a v70 classic T5, flash tunable?
hi everyone! i live in essex uk and new to volvos, sold my nissan 200sx to buy a "family car" so i thought if im going to have a estate i might as well have a quick one! i have bought myself a 1997 v70 t5 240bhp manual trans.
what i would like to know is can i flash tune the ECU for more power? i have a laptop with a elm327 for general diagnostics but do i need somthing like the kwp2000 to flash the ecu? does it work with this ecu or do i need to buy a chip?
i take it that ordinary methods also work ie air filter, exhaust etc what is the best arrangement/size for the exhaust? also can i up the boost with just a bleed valve/boost controllerand what is the max boost it can run safely? any help is appreciated, i dont want to blow it up!

Sorry, '99 was the first year 'flashable' via the OBII port. It can be modified though, IPDUSA.com provides several levels of tuning, and they also have an international conterpart on that side of the pond. I have a 98 V70 T5 and have their stage III setup. Good luck, & BTW, manul trans are very desirable, at least in the USA.
