Default No Power

Hi,

My daughter lives away from home. She went on a trip with her 1998 V 70 Wagon. She called me to report her car had No Power going up hills, seems to be trying to shift but doesn's. It has 116,000mi on car. Any HELP on this problem. It is hard to help her so far away.

THANK YOU

Walter

Is it a turbo? If so, it could be one of the intercooler hoses. Probably too obvious to be the cause but could the transmission be in Winter Mode?

It could be many things
Clogged fuel filter
Slipping trans
Missfiring engine
ETC

Try to get a little more details from her.

The service Engine light goes on when she starts the car and goes off in a few minutes. Any help on problem? The next time she comes home I plan to have my mancanic go over everything.

The Service light is an OIL change reminder light.
