I was wondering if any of you had problems with your power locks. My wifes v70 doors will lock when she gets out of the car and closes the door. I'm glad it doesn't happen on mine, because I tend to leave my keys in the car. This only seems to happen when the car is turned off. If anyone has any ideas or similar stories I would love to hear from you.

 

Hi, Do the doors lock straight away ???
I know that my doors lock after a certain amount of time, maybe a minute or two, i think it a safety device, incase you forget to lock your doors.
My Subaru did the same thing.. Hope this helps ?

They lock in a few seconds. It just started happening a few months ago.

 

What year is it?

 

The 2000 has the problem. It seems that was a good year for gremlins(not the AMC variety).

 

That is very weird. Does she have a remote on her keys?

 

Yes, there is a remote on the keychain. I thought she was inadvertantly hitting the lock button when she was closing the door. I told her to set the keys on the roof and then close the door. It still happened on and off just like before. It is a most confusing problem.

 

Take the remote off the keys and leave it away from the car. Then see if it still happens. The button in the remote might be bad. Then anykind of Vibration might be making the button activate.
