Hi, I'm considering purchasing a 98 Volvo V70 XC wagon for my disabled mother, she can't sit in a standard car cause the seats are too low, the only vehicles she can sit in are van, CUVs, PT cruiser, Focus, and a 2003 XC70 we saw in a used car lot, the question is, can the seats on the 98 V70 XC sit as high as the seats on the 03 XC70? I don't want to drive all the way to look at the car if she can't even sit in it. Thanks for any advice.

 

I know that the 850 seats can be raised about 1-1/2 inches but I'm not sure about the 70 series cars. You should be able to find one for sale closer to check.

 

unfortunately now with a busted wrist I can't do anything like taking out a seat, I was just wondering if the height above the floorboard was the same at max setting as the newer 03 XC, volvos are a bit hard to find around here, it will probably be gone by the time I am ready to see it.

 

Would adding AN grade bolts with spacers to raise the height work?

 

This might be easier, what's the height of the top of the bottom front edge of the driver seat when it's raised to max on the 98~ volvo v70 XC?
