Hello,
I have 2001 V70 2.4T with 95k miles on it.
Mechanic recommended doing a radiator flush.
Is that a typical millage to do this procedure?
Car was purchased with 60k miles, so I am not really sure what done to the car prior to us owning it.
Thanks for your help.
Daniel

Two comments. The owner's manual for our 06 2.5t says that coolant doesn't have to be changed normally. That sounds like pure nonsense/wishful thinking to me. Modern silica-free coolants usually have a long change interval recommendation. Six years or 90K miles is a common one. Subsequent changes at about 1/2 that interval. (Ford, Honda, GM have this recommendation, maybe others).
Be careful of "flush". You really don't want a lot of pressure in the cooling system since things like heater core don't love abnormal pressure. Low pressure is o.k., not high pressure. Find out what the mechanic plans to do. Those machines cost your mechanic money, and they make it back by doing the procedure.
