the rear drive shaft was removed to make room to remove the exhaust. when I went to reassemble, the front drive flange(c/v joint, universal) call it what you will. any suggestions on cleaning and proper reassembly??

98 v-70 xc, 168k

the joint came apart, ***** fell to the floor, cage still on shaft.

 

I've done 2 V70 driveshafts and haven't had this problem - wonder if the joint is so worn that it caused it to fall apart? I'd call Colorado Driveshaft - very helpful and knowledgable on Volvo shafts. 800-937-2953
